How This Game Got Juiced + Previous Feedback

Coloring Book Battle (JUICED Edition) Changes:

- Added Player icons next to the player's score for visual assistance.

- Added a color trail to the player's color to help track their location while playing.

- Implemented a "muzzle effect" for when the player shoots their "gun".

- Added a white rain effect for dramatization in the background of the map.

Coloring Book Battle:

Each player can only shoot 5 bullets until they run out. Each bullet landed on a player is 5 points added to their total score. If a player is hit with a bullet, they are knocked out, but don't lose any points. Bullets are refilled once they are spawned back into the game. You can also manually reload your ammo by 2 shots through pressing a specific button. However, if you reload your ammo too much/fast and it exceeds 5 shots, your gun will "explode" and you will be knocked out, giving the other player 2 points to their score instead. Try to manage your ammo while beating your enemy? In the original game, the only way to really score against the other player was to attack them by jumping on their heads which is a vertical attack approach. In my mind, I wanted the player to also have the opportunity of being able to attack horizontally, so the idea of shooting a bullet to score points came to mind. In the game, I limited the player to 5 shots because I wanted to prevent a constant spam of attacks. Also, I implemented the shooting mechanic with both an automatic and manual reload system. In terms of the manual reload button, I still wanted it to be fair by punishing players who could potentially abuse it by making their gun "explode" and give points to the other player if their ammo is higher than the original limit of 5.

Feedback (All of The Issues Have Been Fixed in This Current Build):

 Seth Stuff I Like:

- Dang, the music and sound effects are really cool - The way you have the players moving around by just flying up through the platforms is also neat stuff to Tune:

- Movement in general feels a little clunky, I think it would feel a lot smoother if the players were sped up a bit horizontally - The bullets are also a bit slow, and also maybe it would be useful to print the number of bullets a player has left somewhere? Bugs:

- If the player's horizontal movement is 0 bullets don't fly - Maybe base the bullet direction on the player's image_xscale rather than x speed - The platforms are all spawning on one side of the room - I think that's to do with what number is in the random_range in the cloud spawn

RoccoWhat Works:

- I like the feel of the jump being slow and have less gravity, which makes it easier for players to land shots. - I like how the player only has a few shot, which discourages spamming which would lead to gameplay being broken What Needs to be Worked On:

- The blocks only spawn on the left side of the screen for me and it accumulates really fast so I could just hug the wall. - There were some moments in which when I jumped/fell onto the smaller boxes I went through and deleted many of them. I'm not sure if it was jump or falling but I think falling since after that I shot up to the sky. - Maybe add a sfx when the hit lands successfully so the player who shot it knows it was successful.
